    GAMSAT 2012 Preparation

    Hey,

I'm sitting the GAMSAT in September and having a major panic right now at the sheer scale of material and what to revise. I've heard on other forums and websites that the Griffiths GAMSAT review book is meant to be amazing, I was wondering if anyone's used it ? or if they have any other suggestions. As I've just graduated I'm on a bit of a tight budget and quite a lot of these materials seem to be really expensive so am looking for something not too pricey.

Your not alone same here, after coming back to science after 10 years I am totally clueless where to start, I think the worst thing about this exam is the lack of structure, you don't know where to start what materials to look for, the griffiths give a guide but then you look at the sample papers and they seem totally different, at least after two week I know now I need something structured such as grad med or des oneill to get trhough this or I have no hope in hell !

Im currently preping for the GAMSAT. I started with section III, Biology which is the easiest subject for me then work my way from easiest to hardest (Organic Chem) then atleast you know what you got most topic out of the way before you sit down and learn in depth the topics you find difficult. Set your self deadlines. IE: mine is to fully complete physics this week, I find that this help me plan a more productive revision schedule. I haven't had a chance to look at Sec I & II stuff yet, really wan't to finish all of science in the next 3/4 weeks inc practice paper prep.

    Good luck

Hey there, you're right a lot of gamsat materials and books seem to be way overpriced, but then again compared to other types of text books etc the gamsat market is "relatively" small so I guess prices are bound to be higher. The Griffiths one is actually cheaper than most though. I used it and found it one of the better ones, you can get it here in case you didn't find the site yet - gamsat book I also used the gamsat gold books and they're OK too but MUCH more pricey so if you're on a budget probably not for you right now. Check out this website too it has plenty of free resources - revisegamsat
