Do you think its essential to buy the gamsat book if you already have a science background? Or just the official acer papers?
    thanks

Hey, I'm also worried about section II. I have a science background as a CT Radiographer but still need to practice all 3 sections all summer! aaahh...

I also got the email from SGUL that al 3 sections have a minimum score of 5.5 accross the paper. I remember thinking "Ohh Great"....

    Best of luck with everyone.

Hi all. GAMSAT repeater here :/ and also with a science background. Personally practice questions with any a-level science books is much better than rote learning - I wasted time on that and the specifics really didn't help in the exams. They ask questions in such a particular way it's mainly learning that...not cool! I went to the SGUL open day and people have recommended the griffiths review.

Also got the email from SGUL - it's better than the Peninsula criteria. The overall marks are meant to be mid 60s!

    Best of luck y'all

Hi just joined the forum! Will be sitting GAMSAT this September. Are Calculators allowed in this exam or not, maybe those who sat the exam in March can answer this?

No calculators allowed, so brush up on your maths skills! I found it really hard to think straight when I was all nervous.

Can some explain what that means score off 55 in all sections. I would have thought if you had a overall score above the cut off then each section mark would be good. I know they don't give out any details on the GAMSAT marking at all

From my understanding the GAMSAT unis need a certain overall score and if you get the score then an interview is guaranteed. However there are three sections and I believe some if not all the GAMSAT unis want a minimum score in each section in addition to the overall score for an interview.

The overall score gained is just an average of the three sections so I assume the cut off for each section is so that the unis ensure everyone that gets an interview at least passed the separate sections. Otherwise someone could get say 10 in section one but 85 in section two and three which would bump up their average hugely but they still did miserably in one section. Hope that makes sense somewhat.

I guess a good example is my uni. So far all my modules have been a split between coursework and homework, we need 40% overall to pass the module however we must get 40% minimum in the exam and cw sides as well. So say I got 60% in the cw section and 20% in exam section the overall would be 40% but it's still a fail because my exam side did not hit the 40% mark.

Hope this makes sense, my mind is not fully functioning at 3am :P

Hello All! I'm a going to be resitting the GAMSAT this September. However, the lack of calculator is freaking me out! Despite having a Biomedical Science degree, SIII is what I find the most difficult! I'm still stressing on how to improve in that section. Oh life.
