11 weeks today until March GAMSAT
I've started counting down the weeks. I'm just putting together a study plan. How are the rest of you March GAMSATers doing in your studies?

Hey Maybe,
I'm still trying to motivate myself, I've got text books and even purchased medired homestudy plan. It does look good if only I can get myself stuck in
Getting very stressed, but we'll see.

Hiya
It is hard to get motivated but just don't want to have to do it again in Sept. What Medired package have you bought? Have you just got notes or have you got the one with videos etc? What are your thoughts on it?

Hey,
I am studying with Medired homestudy package, just books no videos.
The package consists of prep for sections I & II, and section III.
Coming from a Science background, I am finding the preparation materials for the humanities section very good (maybe I'm just terrible at writing
It gets you thinking in an essay writing mode.
So far I'm using fear to motivate myself
and starting with my weakness i.e. humanities, then physics, bio and lastly chemistry.
How are you studying for the Gamsat? Have you any tips
And did you visit the website Revise Gamsat

Hi all of you, can I also suggest my blog revisegamsat.com? I built it while studying for the 2009 London GAMSAT. It mainly covers section 3 but there's some section 2 stuff in there as well.
Good luck in March!

Thanks Martigan

And thanks for the mention VMash, I didn't spot this before
Absolutely! Medicine is a really big dream to chase and, in my opinion, one of the most worthwhile things it's possible to do!
I haven't mentioned before but my dad is a retired doctor. He's now in Cameroon organising the building of schools. Every year he gets loads of Christmas presents from all the people he's helped. It does seem like the most astonishing profession, working with life and death and being an everyday hero.
Not to overglamorise it though. I've worked as a nurse and it's pretty gritty too dealing with anger, grief, ingratitude and occasional litigation. It's a varied, emotionally charged, rollercoaster of a job and I really hope we all get the chance to do it.

Hey heavenly - I have checked out revisegamsat site and it is very good however is that pretty much all you revised to get up to speed on Section 3? I didn't use video tutorial on the internet much for september but i am relying mostly on these now with the GAMSAT practice questions and testing my self online for March.
Any tips for S3 would be most helpful as even though I have revised though this once it's very difficult to organise my thoughts for take 2.

Hi Mysterio,
This is everything that I used. There were sections that I would have liked to have covered more thoroughly, particularly things like negative feedback and heart pathology so I would not say the site is anything like complete yet though. Quite a lot of section 3 can be tackled using a little knowledge mixed with common sense.
I got 67 in section 3 which is OK though I would have liked more time to revise. If you come up with any resources you think I should include in the site do please feel free to ping them over and I'll give you a credit.
My tips for section 3?
- Don't drink tea, coffee or coke for 3 days before the exam so you don't need it.
- Take a drink and a good lunch with you so you're fresh for the afternoon. I took a flask of hot tea and rice salad, lots of carbs and protein.
- Take a good break at lunchtime, get some fresh air and clear your head you've been busy all morning.
- If you get within 10 minutes of the end and won't finish, answer C for all of the remaining questions then rattle back through them taking a good guess at the easy ones. This will probably happen if you don't have everything down pat and are working things out in the exam.
- Look for the obvious. Very often the clue is in the question, especially for the physics and biology questions.
- Learn Organic Chemistry really really well!
- Assume you can do it!
Good luck!Last edited by heavenlyjohnson; 12-01-2010 at 08:23 PM. Reason: modesty
