So my next thought is whether there are any differences between the Aussie and Irish versions of the test? Does it make a difference how many people take the exam (presumably more people take the Aussie Gamsat)?

I'm assuming there will be either no or negligible differences, just want to check and make sure, I need all the help I can get!

I was just wondering whether you'd confirmed with UCAS that we can sit the cheaper Aussie GAMSAT in March in London rather than the Irish one? Would love two goes at the test before applying if I can!

    Thanks
yep, you can use the irish & ozzie versions the same as you'd use the british one. only thing is, you will have to send your details to UCAS manually.

from everything i've read, the test format and content is exactly the same for all versions of the GAMSAT (it's a standardised test). good luck

Ahhhhh!! Just booked my place with GAMSAT Ireland in London! Scary stuff, Saturday the 20th of March 2010, bring it on! The Australian exam is a bit cheaper but the Irish one seemed a bit...I don't know, safer?! Anybody on here from Kent and interested in starting a study circle?!

Great stuff - Was wondering what type of study plans everyone was using? Especially those who work full time 5 days? I am sticking to evenings have to leave weekends as free as possible although I will be using Weekends too closer to the exam. I am trying to maintain an even split between section 1 and 3.

Does anyone know of gamsat tutors or classes/courses that I can do like the ones u can do in the summer? I'm in Guildford if anyone is near and wants to study. I'm taking a few months off work this time round as I really don't want to fail again. I'm working until then end of December then starting again after the exam. I haven't booked the test yet (I can't until I get paid in a few weeks!) I hope the places don't run out! :-S

well i work full time Mysterio, so i am mostly doing evenings and like you will be revising every spare second as we get close to the exam. Im going to mostly focus on organic chemistry and try and swot up a bit more on the biology bits, but hopefully now ive sat it once i think i know a bit more what to expect.

Mysterio...what score did you get in this sept gamsat if you dont mind me asking??

ive also got a science tutor who helps me with the bits i get stuck on but mostly i will be just studying myself.

Hey - I did pretty poorly so have my work cut out - I got 50 - 68 - 40 - I ran out of time in Section 1 so had to guess 30% at the end. Section 2 was fine for me although I should have got more marks so could improve - section 3 well lets not even go there - suffice it to say that when I opened that exam paper it was a whole world of pain for 3 hours. What marks did you get? Alot of people said section 3 sept 2008 wasn't to bad and you could work the answer out - no such luck in this one.

I am finding it really hard to study as I live away from home and travel almost all the time but I will motor on. Inspiration is lacking at the moment and am finding it really hard to motivate myself to study. I have got all the material and am trying to work through everything as best as possible. I think a little bit of luck on the day would be nice too

i completely understand how you feel, i feel the same at the moment. im totally lacking in inspiration and motivation, but still so desperate to do well. its hard working full time and then come home and try and find the strength to open an organic chemistry book...which at the moment makes me feel like i want to puke!!

i got 57 - 61 - 45...which im trying to be positive about and think its a good effort for a first try and i have no science qualifications except a gcse. section one and two were ok...but i still expected myself to do better than i did. section three...i cannot even speak about, i wanted to cry throughout the whole thing. im hoping i will feel considerably less hysterical by march!! how many hours revision are you doing a week?

Glad it's not just me then. Maybe we can encourage each other every so often - it does help to have a chat about it! I'm not really monitoring how much actual time I spend studying as I did that last time round and it didn't really help. This time I am splitting up topics (mainly my weak areas among others) and learning as well as regular TESTING! as this was a big problem for me last time. On average I would guess that equates to about a couple of hours during week nights but as I said never really set time limits. As I travel on train as well I tend to use this time to go through practice GAMSAT questions carefully or watch Organic Chem vids on my iphone. Might sound organised but to be totally honest it feels far from it. I have an unconventional working life so that doesn't help! I am using Griffiths guide for the topics these seemed to be pretty spot on. I am hoping less people will be sitting Ireland GAMSAT compared to England. What's your plan like?

well it sounds like u have a pretty good plan. im currently focusing on organic chemistry cus i really struggle with that using revision guides and chemistry text books as well as online resources. im trying to do a minimum of an hour each week night...trying being the operative word!!! i feel just frustrated and it is hard as we have to study ourselves, its a lot of pressure! and i get totally stressed out a lot of the time. ive got griffiths guide do which i think its the best resource available and just trying to build on everything i taught myself last year. i really hope there will be far less people sitting this irish one too...i need all the luck i can get!!
