I'd like to hear from anyone who has been to sit the GAMSAT in Ireland before as i've just been thorugh registration and they offer Cork and Dublin only. My personal choice is Dublin however I have just checked and the airport is a bit of a trek - what are the train - bus links like?

i live in dublin and there's a variety of ways to get from the airport to the city center. this being dublin unfortunately none of them are particularly cheap or interconnected Home - Dublin Bus - aircoach is a fairly cushy direct way to get from the airport to a variety of hotels but there's loads of standard buses too which'll drop you off in the city center etc. a word of warning though, some of the standard routes are quite circuitous and slow depending on the time of day.

i'd hold off booking a hotel til you find out where the venue is this year. previously its been held in the ucd blackrock graduate campus but that may well change, esp if the application numbers go up. depending on traffic it takes between 30-50 mins to get from the airport to the city center and then it's another 30-50 mins to get to blackrock if you're using public transport. the DART (commuter rail) goes to blackrock from the city centre. aircoach doesn't go there directly but would drop you off outside the stillorgan park hotel which is a 30/40 minute walk to the venue. cork might be an easier set up seeing as you're not familiar with the city but i don't know there that well!

speaking from my experience in london (good!) make sure you arrive early the day before and try save yourself a lot of hassle by finding somewhere to stay near the venue if you can. ideally all you should have to do that morning is pick up your pens and calc and get a coffee for the stroll. good luck guys!

Zep - Thank you for that - my intention was to find accomodation VERY close to the actual test centre and travel to the airport after the test was over. I will book GAMSAT Ie fairly soon but will hold off accomodation. The trek to the Airport looks like a total pain though!

Fran as far as I know you can't sit a March exam in London - unless once again I have missed this important bit of information! If that IS the case that would be solid!

GAMSAT Ireland 2010 test centres will be located in Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.

A small number of overseas testing centres are provided to cater for international candidates and Irish citizens/residents living overseas. They will be located in London, and Melbourne Australia. An overseas testing levy of €50 will apply for centres outside of Ireland, in addition to the registration fee.

There is also the possibility that applicants may be able to sit GAMSAT Ireland in Singapore or Washington DC. Places in these centres are limited and are in no way guaranteed. All interested people should contact the GAMSAT Ireland Office via email gamsat-ie@acer.edu.au to enquire about availability.

yer lucky monkeys however i'm now more concerned then ever about the increased no. of applicants. ARRGHHH!
