Freaking out
I've been studying for the GAMSAT for about 1.5 weeks now roughly, and today I just had a look at some of the sample questions from the science section and completely freaked out. My first thought was - humanly impossible!
I don't have a science background, no science A-levels and a degree in psychology - where I did touch on biology - especially neuroscience side of things, but nothing else. Have people with non-science backgrounds managed to overcome this beast of a section or is it really impossible
only 3 months to go

I'm in the same boat as you. Physics is the only science subject that I am in the slighest familiar with.
Does anybody recommend any biology study material, books etc?

I did it. I have biology GCSE and a PhD in history. I used revise AS/A2 in a week and the internet to make a max of 2 sides of notes on each of the topics listed in GAMSAT review (well those I could access, many of the physics and organic chemistry I just left). I got 53 in the science section (thank goodness I have lots of experience writing essays!)
I did find the ACER papers much harder than the actual GAMSAT. Last year you seemed to be able to get many of the answers by reading the text/graphs/charts carefully. I think that if you have the science background you could probably get to the answer quicker, but I am proof that it can be done.
Good luck to you both (and everyone else).Sam

Wow clemette that sounds pretty cool! And congratulations for getting into Nottingham you're gonna love it! Can I just ask approximately how many months you spent in preparation and how many hours a day roughly?
And Professor B, I'm using the Letts revision guides for AS and A2 Biology right now, plus the AQA AS and A2 Human biology books, they break the information down clearly and it's easy to understand - hope that helps!
If anyone knows where I could get more understanding of organic chemistry let me know

I started in July and did about an hour a night. I have a full-time job and then had a three year old and a baby.
As for organic chemistry I bought Organic Chemistry for Dummies (but I still don't understand it

That's amazing! I thought there was no way i could do it because I just started studying about a week and a half ago - as soon as I moved out of campus, but knowing that you did it is reassuring. However, I'm officially giving you the label of a genius - you must be good!!

I suspect just lucky. No doubt September will prove just how scientifically clueless I am...
Good luck.Sam

Noooo, though...I am going to London for 3 weekends for the GradMed revision course :S
22nd - 23rd August, 29th - 30th August, 5th - 6th September...you going to that?
None of this makes sense, I might just find a dark corner and sob into these GAMSAT practice questions...
