Preparation for GAMSAT 2010

Hi guys
I am just starting to get prepared for GAMSAT march 2010 (for irish entry). I have des o neills notes, the 3 acer sample papers, and some leaving cert (equivalent to A level) textbooks. I am entering my final year in Sept. Physical/organic chem and physics is all new to me so I feel i'd be pretty much starting from scratch. Having done biology to leaving cert level, at least some of that may stand to me. I have virtually no experience in writing essays, or reading/analysing complex text. Is the science section really that hard/impossible? I just hope this is not over my depth and am not fooling myself into thinking I can do this. I dont even know where to start with all this stuff. The workload just seems massive. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

hey i m doing the gamsat in ireland too!!! i m pretty much in the same boat as you!! i m in my final yr doing arts and i ve only just started studying chemistry on my own. there is sooooo much to cover n i m lost already!! did ya check out the gradmed site, it has sample questions on all the section in the paper!! (i knida got a fright with the chemistry ones lol

i ve done biology till leavin cert too but i have done a diploma course in anatomy n physiology in newbridge which i hope will help!! all i ve read from other forums is that ppl say to go over the sample papers from acer over and over again and try learn it that way!!

sry i m not much help but its nice to know that ur not the only one how is feelin lost lol!!

I'm also in the same boat as you guys apart from I'm doing my Science degree. I got the griffiths notes and I'm wondering if that's enough? I'd say it's just practice and lots of practice..

Where are you guys studying at the moment?

Hi guys i have the section 2 sample questions (12) on ebay which comes with marker appraisals so you know what the examiners are looking for. The essays + answers are fantastic in helping me prepare for the written communication (section2) of GAMSAT. The markers appraisals and model answers have hhelped tremdously as i would never have thought to include some of the things that are expected.

hey i m studyin in maynooth at the min, doin an arts degree!! i m just finished a catchup chemistry book i got in the maynooth library which is pretty good, gonna move onto a tougher book tomorrow!! how r u finding the study for it??
