Previous GAMSAT scores and what you are hoping for this year.
Hi. I took the GAMSAT last year and got 62, 61, 59. I ended up not applying because i thought id done rubbish but id actually have got an interview at Notts. Oooops!
With a lot of revision (it's mainly organic chem that's needed) this summer and essay practice i hope to get into the 70's.
How about you?

I dont quite understand the scoring system in each section,...For instance in section 3 there are 50 questions, doesn't this mean a maximum of 50 in that section???
Confused!!..Help please.
Furthermore, can anyone give a breakdown of the pass rate??.
Thanks

The GAMSAT website says:
Overall Score = (1 x Section I + 1 x Section II + 2 x Section III) ÷ 4.
You will receive a score for each of the three sections, together with an Overall GAMSAT Score. The Overall Score will be a weighted average of the three section scores.
Each of the four GAMSAT scores will be expressed on a scale of 0 to 100. (These are not percentage marks.)
As for the pass rate, Griffiths says:
Although the scores are on a scale of 1 to 100 ACER has
stated that they are not percentage scores. This is because
each year’s scores are “scaled”. This means that they are
adjusted up or down to make the scores from one year directly
comparable with other years results. ACER do not reveal how
they do this but in all likelihood it is by means of adjusting the
raw percentages into scores so that the percentile curve is
equivalent from year to year (percentiles are explained below).
This causes a problem for candidate’s preparation as when you
complete the practice papers you only know your score in
percentage terms, but have no idea how this score will convert
into a GAMSAT score.
Hope that helps. Good luck.Sam
