    Official GAMSAT 2009 Thread

Hey everyone, I've found myself constantly on this website checking the GAMSAT section so thought I'd register (this is the first time I've ever joined a forum! lol) and start this thread for anyone who is doing the exam this year and not selling materials.

How is everyone gettin on with the revision so far? Be good to hear from some people about how difficult their finding it too! Did anyone buy the Grifthis GAMSAT Review book? I'm very tempted.

This is my first time applying for medicine, graduated last summer...bit daunting hearing about how difficult it is to get in, competition is crazy! though will give it all I got tho.

    Hi Owen

I have an arts degree so very worried about the exam. I am currently doing A level biology and chemistry to try to prepare.

Hi owen - I took the gamsat this year and passed. I hadn't looked at science for 12 years. I gave myself 6 weeks, worked my way through chemistry, biology and physics a level books and did all the practice acer questions 3 times. Definitely get the gamsat review - its invaluable. I was probably doing about 18 hours study a week for 6 weeks and that was enough. Good luck!

Hi dalek. yeah I'm gonna buy the gamsat review next week I think, its good to hear that u passed the science section after not studying it for so long. If you don't mind me asking what mark did you get and how did the interviews go?

I've bought an anthology book on poems and a revision guide to A-Level English language for section I so hopefully that will give me a good start.

Hey owen, I got 71 overall (80-75-65) and am still awaiting the results of the interview!
For the humanities etc, I only did the practice essays/questions and followed the guidance in the gamsat review.
Although I really stressed about it, looking back, I think so long as you have a plan and cover the major topics, you should be ok.

Hey Lotty thanks for advice, no just sitting the gamsat I think, I thoight about it but my a-levels are not the best so thought the gamsat would give me the best chance. As long as I get a high enough mark and do well at the interview. I'm quite good at talking so hopefully with some prep I'd be fine. How are you finding doing both? (I'm guessing your doing both? I'm Applying at Notts, Keel, St.George, and Penninsula.

    Where are you applying?
