It could be Any Time Now!!

But I guess it won't be until Monday earliest now it's the weekend. GAMSAT website says early November so please let it be next week!

Good luck everybody xx

P.S. AimsRJ - I seem to remember you were taking the exam in Bham. So did I. How did you find it?

I took it in Bristol. prob a mix up with the Bs!

erm...I honestly dont know how I have done, I guess that the problem with the scaled scores. I think it was fairly similar to how I was finding the practice ones and I dont think I screwed it up totally. Its just a different mindset to when you are used to simply 'passing' an exam- I think I did ok but then I think, well to actually succeed what i needed to do was to beat 3 out of every 4 people sat in the room and I think that it probably pretty unlikely. So I'm not holding my breath. Most people get scores in the 50s which is probably what I'm likely to get, which in the case of peninsula for me is 'close but no cigar'!

We'll see.

How did you find it?

wow I've just noticed how big a deal it is for you- 3 out of the 4 choices- I thought I was bad enough with 2!
Do you mind my asking with a good UKCAT score why you didnt apply to more unis that use that? I ask because it was a dilemma for me too!

Ok, yes, I feel much the same. Seemed ok, not a complete write-off, but you just never know. Section 3 is the one that will drag my mark down, just praying for 60+...

I had a very narrow choice in where I could apply because of my background: Russian, French, Music A-levels, Computer Science degree and PhD. No biology and chemistry there at all which ruled out most places. So decided to go for it with the GAMSAT. GKT was the only UKCAT place that I could apply to, apart from Newcastle, but I can't move that far north for personal reasons. It was a toss-up between Keele and Swansea - Keele only has 10 places - but again, moving away as far as Swansea would have been difficult. Really liked Swansea tho.

So there you go. Fingers majorly crossed for next week! Good luck with yours.

Do the universities get the scores before we do?

To think that they already have the scores and the future paths of so many (or just me) are being decided right now, well, it's making me a little crazy.

yes, they usually get your score a day before you do - or they did when I sat it four years ago.

but (unless things have changed since last time) you'll get an email from GAMSAT about 24hrs before they release them to say what time they'll be posted on the web, so don't worry - if you haven't heard anything yet, then it'll not be today/tomorrow.
