gamsat misery
I sat the gamsat for the first time in jan 2004.
I was bitterely disappointed with my dire results: 49,43,59 respectively in sections 1 2 and3. I am considering re-sitting the exam nxt yr but i am really stressed about how to prepare .My confidence has been totally shattered. i was wondering if anybody could give me some advive and words of encouragement. How on earth do people manage to get such incredibly high scores, like in the 70's and 80's????????
any tips????????

First off, I'm assuming you sent off for the practice papers.
I'm not sure how helpful I can be with the verbal reasoning section, as I studied English as a first degree, so didn't really study for it...all I can suggest is look first for which options you can rule out. From memory, the trick is often that they give you options which are plausible, but *not* actually supported *in the text*. Try to pick up on those.
For the science stuff, get someone who did A-level and preferably degree-level science to help you out. I focussed very strongly on the chemistry - not to the exclusion of the other two, but I'd guess about two-thirds of my time went on it. Organic chemistry, in particular, took a lot of time to get used to, but once you've got it taped, there are some quickish marks you can pick up in the paper.
The essay writing question is probably hardest, in that if you haven't written essays for a while, it's a completely new skill. Not sure what to suggest here beyond practice, I'm afraid - although again, having people cast an eye over stuff you've done would be good.
