Anyone else spot the mistake in Section III?

On question 93 (about achieving a pH with a buffer solution) the correct answer was 10 moles sodium hydrogen carbonate to 1 mole carbonic acid. ACER got the names of the chemicals the wrong way round, so the closest answer was miles off!

Anyone else a bit thrown by that one?

bloody hell, I was struggling to get my head round answering their questions properly...not even close to tripping them up. Think its safe to say you'll be in the top 25% with understanding like that!

cheers dude, fingers and toes crossed!

Must have messed up at some point though, probably end up getting about 5% on section 2 and failing...

if there is something wrong with the question, they probably just leave it out right?
Although since I didn't know that one, I probably went for C as well

Got an email reply from ACER - apparently they're taking a look at it and will let me know what they decide in a couple of weeks. I'll post on here when there's news.

I had no idea how to answer that question although I thought at first it's going to be quite straightforward. In the first question I answered that you can't mix them because you dont know their volume or something and I didnt even get the second question so I moved on to a different unit.

Received confirmation today that there was indeed a mix up; ACER apologised and said they have taken this into account when marking.

I guess this means scores won't be affected, so nothing to worry about.

Is this ACER referring to the eastern region thingy? (All i can find on google that's relevant..)

If so how comes you're complaining to them, not cambridge, do they administer it there?

ACER is the Australian Council for Educational Research - the guys that set GAMSAT.

More info here: GAMSAT UK - Home

Didn't realise there was a British ACER too - I can see how that could be confusing!
