GAMSAT 2009 Dublin Study Group

Hey there

Just wondering whether anyone out there would fancy meeting up to form a study group in Dublin this year for the GAMSAT? I'm doing my final year in college and have my finals in Christmas (not to mind a thesis to start in February) so I would really like to meet up with a few ppl and be able to focus on the GAMSAT!

Also if anyone is selling a copy of the Des O'Neill notes or the Gradmed material I would be very interested in buying it!

I would have an interest in starting a study group in dublin somewhere. Where abouts are you from in town. Plus what are you graduating in. I just graduated with a degree in biology if that helps. Also im not fully sure of what the prep material needed for the gamsats is. Ive read that organic chem for dummies is a good start. if you have any idea let me know here or email me... Looking forward to a reply!

I'm living in Drumcondra but going to DIT in the city centre. What about you? Haven't graduated yet, in final year of Town Planning (ok weird jump to med i know!!). I did do Biology, Chemistry and an Introduction to Physics in first year but probably a little rusty. Yeah heard that Organic Chemistry For Dummies & Physics for Dummies were excellent for studying. I think there is a revision course called Gradmed thats meant to be v. extensive but expensive.

Yea thats a strange jump alright. What made you want to make such a change. Well i have my honours degree in Bio and My pass degree in Physics. My biggest areas to work on would be the chenistry and written sections. Have you started to study for it yet? I reckon i will be getting into the study come october! I live in town at the moment but i will be moving house soon (to another place i town) so meeting up to study in the city would be no problem to me.

Hey sorry 4 the delay in replying but I was up in Donegal...no internet access...back of beyond!! Its a huge jump but I was always interested in Medicine just never considered it as a potential career as I was never going to be a candidate for 600 points!! But the GAMSAT I can manage!
Yeah Im thinking of starting the study in October too, Im only back in college on Monday so I want to see how my timetable is breaking down as. I have a good knowledge of Bio and passable chemistry but Physics is my major problem area 2 be honest.
I know of two others who are doing the exam and would be interested in joining a study group but I don't know of any others.

Ok great. I reckon that a group of about 4 or so people would be the perfect size to get something constructive done. Any more and it gets difficult to work as a unit in my experience.

yup i agree...well i have sorted out some study material now so Im officially going to start studying on the 1st of October!! Once I get a routine going it shud be easy enough going!

What material have you gotten your hands on. I still havent been able to get the stuff of my cousin who sat it march gone and aced it.
