Question regarding Acer Practice/Sample questions

Hi guys,

I have purchased the Acer Gamsat practice test and am about to purchase the practice and sample question books. I was just wondering whether the questions they sell are the same every year? so should i buy second hand practice/sample books from last year AS WELL as new ones from this year? or are they the exact same thing, and thus shouldnt bother buying both.

Please advise, many thanks in advance

I emailed them and they said they are they sell the same set of questions every year. I suppose if they did release a new set of questions every year, that would put subsequent years at a greater advantage.

Not necessarily, since the GAMSAT score is given as a percentile of all candidates sitting the exam, and not as a raw score. So even if a subsequent year did have an advantage, it may affect the raw score, but not the actual percentile score. Right?

Gah! You got me there ya b*****d. With such astute observational skills you should nail the GAMSAT.

I think you were right first time. Scores are valid for 2 years so that applicants who are unsuccessful at interview can use the scores again the following year without having to resit. They wouldn't be on a level playing field if people the second year had access to more practice materials.

I always assumed that they stayed the same but I sold some 2003 papers on ebay recently and from contact with potential buyers comparing the first few questions in each booklet it sounded like the practice test and sample questions booklets have changed since 2003 but the other booklets haven't. Not sure when they changed or if they've changed more than once...

Best of luck!

Thanks Deagle

Hmm, i'm still quite puzzled. maybe somebody who has an official Acer Practice Test from previous years can help me out. I have the paper from this year which i ordered from the UCAS website.

The first question in the exam is:

Quote:
According to Comment I, using the term 'settlement' to describe the arrival of the British is
Is this the same question in previous years' papers? Much appreciate any help on this issue as it would save me a lot of hassle and money.

Cheers

Gotti, I have the papers from I think 2005, and the first question is exactly the same, it's all about the Aussie invasion/settlement in Australia, and historical perspectives. I think the last question in that section was about Aussie house expenditure or something. Incidentally I found section one to be quite easy, but section three a real b*tch.
