Unhappy Newbie in distress!!

Hey guys! I just joined and I'm kinda lost, it would help if I actually gave you guys some of my background history first. Basically I'm a psychology student (just finished 2nd year) and have decided that I'm going to apply for grad entry med - I decided kind of late - which leads me to my first problem, I only have about 2.5 months to revise for Gamsat....is that enough?! The second question is the Biology that comes up in GAMSAT, is it just Human Biology, or do I need to cover topics such as plants, enviroment and pollution?

Thats loads so dont worry! its a level biology basically, maybe stretching into 1st year undergrad and they could ask on plants etc. Just get the A levels in a week series and run through it. Its not the monster its made out to be...

Thanx!! That decreased my stress levels about 70% the rest I'm just going to have to overdose on orange juice and hope that vitamine C really does decrease cortisol levels (it worked in the exams...i thinkkk)

In fact there was a question on the HPAxis in last years exam... I went for proplus and lucozade myself, make sure you go to the loo 30mins before the end of the exams (not the essays!) to avoid the mad poo rush, and have a small lunch to avoid post prandial sleepiness! the rest will sort its self out!

Or pop across the road, which is what I did in September - assuming it's held in the Royal Horticultural Halls again (which also assumes you're doing it in London, I suppose). I think it was Victoria Sexual Health Clinic - I just saw an NHS sign outside and thought, "Well I pay my taxes..." and no one made a comment and there wasn't a queue.

Yup I'm probably gonna go for the lucozade! A friend of mine sat her finals this year and took redbull before the exam - she said she messed up the exam because of the caffeine/sugar rush so I'm staying well away from that drink!

Not a poo rush surely lol it must get really hectic...I'm still trying to get my head around the limited amount of time we have to answer each question :|

the essay one was the only time pressured one for me the rest I had a good 10-20mins but depends on how fast you read I suppose!

One advantage of the poo rush is that if its a chilly sept at least the seats were warm...

Wish I'd seen that clinic though Stephen! You set for sept?

It was either queue or go look for an alternative (I wasn't quite as speedy at the old multiple guess as you).

In practical terms I think I'm set for sept (more or less) - I still don't quite believe it's going to happen. I wonder how I'll adapt to being a full-time student again, albeit I imagine medicine is much more full-time that my last degree How about you?

I think I went with lucozade, but didn't drink a lot since I was a bit busy concentrating. I did manage to finish all the questions in all sections with a few minutes to spare, but I think it's important to move onto the next one if you get stuck (take a note of the number and make an an educated guess anyway - no negative marks after all) and stick within time limits you've imposed for yourself. If there's time at the end you can revisit the ones you got stuck at. In section 3 I took longer per question as the test progressed, but whether that was me getting tired or the questions getting harder I don't know.

Best of luck and you've got plenty of time (I had less than a month to study and I last studied the sciences at A-level about 14 years ago - and did fine).
