Gamsat- Dublin - Sat - Parking - Help!!!

Just wondering if anyone can be of any help as regards all day parking during the exam on Saturday- I'm coming down from the North and as such am not sure where is likely to be a good place to park - but am wary of getting a ticket, or returning to find my car clamped - I can't afford it for one thing! Have tried emailing GAMSAT/ACER - but as usual they are less than useless- please help if you can, I'd appreciate it

Thanks
Cat

Hi

As far as I can remember there was parking at the business school last year -probably only for about 50 cars though and last year there were nearly 400 people doing it , so best to get there early. Can't remember about parking on nearby roads alhtough would say you can park there and get a parking ticket in a local shop...sorry can't be more helpful but got a lift last year !

Hey Catherine,

You should be fine for parking. There is enough for about 150 cars overall on the blackrock campus, and parking on the road outside is free. Get there early though, that's my plan.

thanks guys I appreciate your input- I must say I'm not looking forward to rising at aroun 4am sat morn, and the thought of hassling for parking then wasn't exactly filling me with excitement!

Just another thought - totally not related, noodlepeg surely your mark shouldn't require you to do it again- limerick's cut off was 59 last year with rcsi going as far as 60 - just a thought - what you reckon they'll be looking for this year

Yup Catherine, you're right, I should have enough, buy I dont wanna wake up in august, check the papers and find out i've missed it by 1 or 2 points... I figured it'd be ok to do again cos I spent the summer working for it last year, but after handing in my thesis on friday, i'm starting to wonder about my sanity. I'll be the one rocking myself in the corner on saturday...

yeah - that sounds like a sensible idea - although I hope the marks don't go up excessively - I got 56 the first time round with very little work and made it to 59 the last go- which turns out would have been enough for Limerick had it been a few months previous - but such is life - hoping for a few more marks to get me there this time, though I find it hard to be at all positive - I hate this exam with a passion! what's your background noodlepeg, if you don't mind me asking, you know of many others who are likely to be sitting - i wonder what the general vibe about GEM is in the South - am afraid I feel a bit out of it up here!!

I'm in my final year of science. Yeah I know quite a few people sitting it on saturday (all super smart - mid 60's I imagine), that's why I couldnt sit back and let them do it without me!

oh well - all the very best- I'm a history Grad, and am freaking a bit - been working full time the whole time and managed to do so little work its untrue- bit stressed! am running out of options so am hoping that there won't be very many do it - or that lots of them will be for next years UCAS application- foolish, but will see I guess! here's hoping!

I'm sure you'll be fine - my one resounding memory of the September exam was thinking "why the hell did i study so much?" I felt like I'd completely wasted my summer, so much information is there on the paper... A friend who'd spent his summer in California managed to get 67 - oh was I bitter!!

that's true- I did manage to get 56 with doing nothing cos of what was there- I'm thinking I might need to be leaving the house before 5 to get there - and trying to weigh up whether should just go to bed, or stay up and study. Tending towards bed - cos a clear head might be better to work out whats there, even if I don't know much more than that myself! All else fails - Ill guess! would suggest we go for a drink afterwards, but might be rushing away - will see on the day, would be good to have someone to go through the GAMSAT hell with! you hoping for Southern unis rather than the UK (sorry if me referring to the South offends - what would you prefer?!)
