% of No Shows at Gamsat Test

Hi everyone, have just had email from gamsat saying that many of the candidates for this year havnt downloaded their admission ticket yet.I was wondering if there will be a lot of no shows this year with the change of date from Jan to Sept.I have heard that in an average year 20% dont show up anyway! Perhaps new Graduates this summer that didnt do test in Jan have decided that they didnt do enough work during summer months to sit test? I think if I was still at uni I would of done test in the Jan this year as I would of liked to enjoy my summer after my finals couldnt think of anything worse than studying for Gamsat after cramming for finals as well! If there is a lot of no shows wonder how it will impact on the moderated marks might give
ACER a bit of a headache during this transition year. Good luck for Friday.

i love this!! soo many of us are desperately trying to clutch at straws, all hoping that the sept date won't screw us over as much as help us out!! I'm loving people who keep posting and talking about dropping the mark-you're filling me with false optimism but keep right on- its great!! all the best everyone- think of me, i'm having to fly to London tomorrow cos nothing would get in on time on Friday, so my revision is screwed already- ah smile

awww- i know how you feel, i have such resentment towards it that i won't even think about practising anymore- cos that's a mature attitude for me to have! I have a stupid aptitude test to apply for a job tomorrow, and I'm trying to work out the best way to everywhere from airports- I hate how I don't live in London!!

Wouldnt' worry too much about the old GAMSAT- the biggest killer is the fact that we panic and don't watch our time, if you sit fairly tight on that -and have a bit of a browse for the easy questions at the start, then you've got a lot of ticks in your box to begin with- if all else fails, panic- and then cross all your fingers and toes that this test being in Sept has shat upon as many people as we would like to think!!

failing that- leave half way through and go to the pub- i considered it last time, it may become a reality this year!

There's nothing wrong with a bit of strategy :-), you win at chess this way!

I can live with being in the 'blip' year if it makes the difference between being there or not.

I'm a dysfunctional perfectionist so the idea of doing something I know I won't do well at - GAMSAT - fills me with horror. Just hoping I can do well enough in the first two papers to bring my average up to just enough to get an interview. This all feels slightly insane and likely to give me a peptic ulcer.

hey - I'm from Coleraine(ish) in NI, did it in Bristol last year, but those who I knew there have moved on, so London this time, I'm freaking a bit, I like to know exactly where I'm going and how long it'll take me to get places when I'm going somewhere! Last time was mega horrendous- I did no work and didn't know any science, cos decisions about applying for Med sorta happened during my finals and I just couldn't get my head around it all! I made it to 56 based upon my first 2 sections, with section 3 bringing it down loads, so am hoping- like the rest of you, that one) the marks are waaaay lower this year and two) that even bringing mine up a little will be enough- the annoying thing is that you can't even guarantee that great marks last year in the first two sections can be repeated! this thing just stresses me out like nothing ordinary!

I'm major annoyed too, I did the MSAT last year and was in the 97th percentile, planning on using it again this year, w/o having to re-do it but no-one wants it!! gutted! actually feel distraught!
man, I want to cry! I just want to write a letter to Gordon Brown and tell him I want to be a doctor, and could he please just sort it (Jimmy Saville creeps me out!)

what are your guy's backgrounds (dreadfully written but I'm losing the will to live!), if you don't mind me asking?

hahaha!!! thanks to everyone on here that is finding the crapsat as difficult as I am.I was actually losing the will to live! after looking thru tonnes of old science rubbish that i found hard enough at A-levels, i realised that I am equally as dire (if not worse) at the stupid reasoning in humanities and all that jazz. I just had an awefull shift at the hospital, and decided i want nothing more than to FINALLY get into med school... and i cant even do that coz of a stupid exam.
Im now banking on a hand-cramp epidemic spreading across the country of premeds on friday morning, and me being in the only 500 or so with immunity! MWAHAHAHAH!! i can but dream!
good luck everyone!
