GAMSAT / OZIMED marking scheme

Hey all,

hope your revision's going better than mine!

I've got some Ozimed papers that I'm practising with, along with answer sheets, but once I've tallied up my score I don't know how to interpret it. If I remember rightly, GAMSAT are a bit vague on their website about how they calculate your score for each section, but I guess the Ozimed papers might come with instructions (I got mine from a friend, so don't have all the original paperwork).

I don't suppose it's as straightforward as a percentage is it? Currently have no idea whether I'm anywhere near the cut off score for George's / Nottingham and need to decide how many of my UCAS eggs I'm going to put in the GAMSAT basket...

Many thanks for any advice!

The score is a percentile score so it depends on what score everyone else gets. If all scores are low and your score is high relative to the rest your GAMSAT score will be high, if you know what i mean! The ozimed papers dont come with a way to convert the scores, just try and score as much as possible!

From what I've heard it's not a percentile you get but each question is assigned a mark depending on it's difficulty, it's difficulty being based on how many people get it right in the exam. The marks add to 100 so if you get everything right you'll get 100, but getting half right could give you a score across a range around the 50 mark depending on which questions they were. Also some questions are test questions for possible use in the future that carry no marks at all. Think it's difficult to guage your progress from Ozimed percentages but I was getting 65ish on Ozimed science sections and got 75 for the GAMSAT science.

Hope this helps + good luck!
