Hey you guys!!! I hope the revision is going well for the GAMSAT. I think I would rather apply for ones that accept the UKCAT like Barts!!!

I just enrolled on my course today! So you maybe sad about revising it, but just think how I feel :s I am only doing this degree, because it may help me getting into medicine. I am not even a fan of chemistry

and as for physics!!!

How is it, that physics is so chemistry orientated. When I done chem a couple of years ago, they taught us physics as chemistry, and last year, we had it as physics!

Confused? Me too. I hate physics.

It's not that I hate it, it's I see it as "The obvious explained in very complex equations". I like all the groundbreaking stuff with particle accelerators (sp?) and string theory and stuff, but learning the equations for throwing balls at particular angles doesn't exactly thrill me.

I'm never doing this exam again If I get a decent enough mark this year but don't get in anywhere I may use it for swansea again, but I'm going for all UKCAT next year.

My my.... we have been procrastinating today haven't we? To think I posted once and went off to do my biology homework...
Strange because I am usually the queen of procrastination- but I find it much easier to study whilst on the sofa. The computer on my desk is just too much of a temptation otherwise.

It's not exactly reassuring that the science grads are finding it difficult too! I'm way too slow with the studying, I've only just started and I've not even been at work this week- it's going to be a nightmare when I get back! Looks like 8 hours sleep a night may soon become a thing of the past When is the GAMSAT anyway, for those of you doing it this year? Must be very soon...

Nik- I have a fair amount of work experience already to impress St Georges with, but unless I score highly on the GAMSAT they'll never get to hear about it...

By way of introduction, Victoria is my real name (not very imaginative I know)- but you guys can call me Vic.

well, I have always been a last minute.com kindof person, so here goes my prep:
for section 1 everytime I get to the question I have lost track of what the passage actually meant. I feel like there are lots of big words that I have never come across?
for section 2 I have read many essays by others but I haven't actually done any myself.
these two sections make me wish I had followed my deam of a arts/humanities based course, but then everyone started telling me about the potential employment problems I am likely to run into after graduating.
for setion 3 I am just hoping to apply logic by intuition, I have done/ing a physics degree but trust me it doesn't make any of the physics questions any more comprehensible. we did physical chem and that was only the foundation. the general physics is mostly all advanced calculus, like differential equations.

I think the biggest problem with the revision is that I tried to do it by myself. At uni we always study in a small group (in the common room) and teach each other for homeworks, tests, exams and then for those who know it all can test their knowledge and everyone else benefits. I dont understand, if this is meant to get us into a heavy PBL type course then surely they want people who are enthusiastic about working in groups, not introvert nerds. there is actually some really good prep material out there and if I didn't have to work to pay for the exams I would have invested a lot more time into it. If anyone is willing we should so form a study group on weekend or something for next year, then we can go away and learn something and come back and teach/ motivate each other!

now I am hoping to ace the UKCAT somehow but tackling (is there a way?) this 2 hrs madness is even more frustrating

does anyone have any ideas on how to approach a hospital or anything as such to gain some hands-on experience? I have only done some social work and volunteering at the union.

I hope everyone who has worked hard for this actually does well in the exam.

btw I get really stressed near exams due to the everything last minute so tomorrow I will be the biggest nervous wreck in the centre.
