Hi all - I haven't been on the site for a while too busy trying to get through my first year of the 4 year programme at Bristol as well as working 2 days a week!! ARG!
But trying to get rid of some books I have knocking around. I did the intensive GRADMED Course (which I was highly impressed with, by the way...very high quality teachers..even though expensive but if you have a busy job it is a good way of making sure you cover the material)...anyway they recommended a number of textbooks including these (any offers are welcome just want to get them sold):
Foundation Chemistry, Cambridge Modular Sciences - quiet a thin, easy to follow book. I think its out of print because I could only find it second hand but if you want it you can have it for £5
Foundation of Organic Chemistry, Hornby and Peach (publisher Oxford Science Publication) - very good for those nasty organic questions that seem to lurk in the GAMSAT papers at every turn, and which are above A level standard. I bought it new but you can have it for £10ono. (or £12 if you take it with the Foundation Chemistry above)
Collins Advanced Science: Physics, Dobson, Grace and Lovett. A chunky A level physics textbook, bought brand new for £38. I found it very uesful having not done A level Physics because I needed that extra background info. £15ono
Also if anyone has questions about life as a 33 year old (now pregnant...oops), ex-investment banker, graduate med student give me a shout. I'm absolutely loving it (apart from the permanent overdraft). NO REGRETS!
Yes I am hoping that too but it seems unlikely, although you're right possibly a lot of the people who land offers will end up declining.
I need to know soon as I will be arranging new plans for...
Argh! I was hoping it would be sooner as I don't really want my Barts interview and I know they have a waiting list, so would rather give it to someone else if I got a place at Soton. Seems like a...
No I agree, in mine it was the female interviewer who really seemed to look down on my experience and tried to show it in a negative light. I guess you're right it may have been to stress us but it...
