Did anyone see the old guy with the grey hair and anorak? I'm still wondering who he was and why he was sitting the exam. Not that I'm ageist, but he must have been around 60-65, which seems a little old to be sitting it, even for fun.

I had a guy sitting next to me who kept breathing really loudly. I was very tempted to shout "stop breathing" and throttle him, but I resisted.

I was sitting a couple of desks to the right of someone meeting that description and I was wondering whether he was planning to make a point using the anti age discrimination legislation. If he reckons he still has the energy for it then good luck to him but I can't imagine that he would have a hugely long career.

Then again, people are living much longer these days and any one of us could get hit by a bus tomorrow! On that pleasant thought, I'd better go and stop my toddler from smashing his sister's favourite bowl (again!).

There are things like length of service exclusions to the age discrimination legislation.
