Hey, Walrus -I can only wish it were as simple as an interview being the guaranteed arbiter of who would make good doctor. But in exactly the same way that an extremely able candidate may perform atrociously in an exam - through nerves, stress, outside influences, acts of God or whatever - so also, it is possible that perfectly able people my perform really badly in a Med School interview.

At this stage, i really really want to point out that I have been very successful at 'work' interviews in the past.

Sadly - that all flew out of the window at the Med school interviews - and even I wouldn't have offered me a place based on those performances.....
I would offer me a place now though ha ha

good luck wth it all xxx

    Hi Gabby ...

Of course you are right!! Would I be complaining if I HAD got the three marks that would have given me an interview? Probably not. And then if based on that interview if I had been rejected would I still be campaigning for the 'All Interview Selection Process'? Once again, probably not.

In fact I would not even have an 'interview' in the selection process. I would have an informal chat where every attempt is made to make the 'interviewee' feel as much at ease as possible. There would be no 'questions' only conversations. Then, of course, you would run into difficulties with the whole process being fair and equal to each indivdual and completely free from subjective bias.

Anyway, it matters not!! I think it's pretty much game over this year for me ... am waiting for the final rejection from PMS. Time to start practising those essays for next year!!

So best of luck with everything!! I'm sure you'll get in!!

Actually, there was this dodgy guy handing out leaflets with a mobile number that promised medical education outside the GAMSAT examination hall on the fateful day. Maybe there is hope yet!
