    Cold, Difficult, and no time

I sat the exam at lawrence hall....the hall was probably below freezing....couldnt move my toes....my fingers were shaking....Section 3 was really easy but had no time altho i quickly skimmed through passages...tried as quickly as possible to write down answers...yet i had to guess the last 15 questions,,,,a shame really coz i know the answers only if i had the time..

essay topics were cool...ii managed to write 2 pages for each qoute....checked both just on time

section I was nightmare,,,,loads of stuff and no time at all...but i managed to finish this section again on time (no more no less)....but i answered many questions without even readin the passages just looking back for answers...

Good luck all for u anyway !!

i totally agree with you. section 1 was hard but managed to finish on time more or less. but section 3 was dead easy but i gave 7-8 answers without even reading the questions...it was very childish...sometimes only boiled down to changing units I too did the first essay on the basis of whether we are born equal or not. and my second one was the one about having fun and animals realizing it but us not. i did ok..not as much as I should but i am hoping for above avereage
I was in Lawrence too...i think I caught a cold in tgere....everyone was sneezing and coughing...

Just in case anyone considering doing GAMSAT next year is reading this, I may be in a minority of 1, but I didn't think it was too bad at all.

I had two layers and woolly socks and wasn't cold. I thought the lunch was quite nice. Chicken salad on wholemeal bread sandwich, packet of crisps, mars bar, apple, and decent choice of bottled drink. I took a flask of coffee and topped up between the papers.

I managed to finish the papers with enough time to check my answers, (just), by missing out ones that looked tricky, picking up time by doing the easy ones, then going back to look more closely at the ones I missed out.

The day of reckoning is not yet upon us, but I don't think the experience was the complete nightmare I was expecting. Don't be put off!

Mostly agree with the last comment. I didn't think I'd manage it because in the only practice I did, I fell asleep going into section 3. Thought it was well organised (apart from needing more time for us ladies to use the loos). Wasn't too cold in Lawrence Hall because I'd learnt from the MSAT in Cambridge to not get caught out - I was therefore, wearing 4 jumpers and legwarmers with my socks. I think otherwise I may have been cold. Glad they didn't skimp on the food either. Thought we'd get cheap rubbish. I tried counting the amount of people, rough estimate about 1000 people in that hall alone. This is on basis of 50 people per row though. So otherwise, no idea.

3rd year UEA Biology undergraduate (predicted a dodgy 2:1) applying to:

    UEA - 5 year - Had interview
    BSMS - 5 year - Rejected
KCL - GEP - Rejected....well with 45th percentile on MSAT, I was still happy
St George's - GEP - waiting on GAMSAT

food definitely better than last year when I sat it ;-) and the innocent drink thingy was really nice this year, not had one of them before.

it was 700 in Lawrence and 300 in Lindley so 1000 in London overall.

It made no difference how many layers I had on I was sitting right at the front where the rubbish doors were I had a icey cold wind blowing in my face. Maybe I should of wore a balaclava(spell check)

Almost exactly my experience. Picked up time on chemistry questions because they're kind of automatic having done it for 3 yrs! Temp wasn't that bad in Birmingham. I went in with a woolly jumper and hoody. It was cool to start with but after lunch I had to take the hoody off. Wouldn't want to be sitting in a hall with 700 people - there was about 150 in Brum. Lunch was alright - though we had cheese and salad sandwiches - surely chicken would be a problem with veggies? Looks like I missed out on the Innocent drinks (they're tasty) we had bottled water- which was useful for section III .

There was a vegetarian option also

No idea what was contained within it though. I think they've should let us have water automatically each and then a sugary drink for the buzz in the afternoon...but yeah, that's me being even more fussy.

Am curious to try and figure out how many people sat GAMSAT this year in total and how this compares to previous years. I see from above we've got 1000 for London and 150 for Birmingham. In Sheffield there were about 170 at most I think. So that gives a total of just over 1300 so far.

Was anyone in Bristol or Nottingham that could tell us the numbers there so we can have a total?

Does anyone know how many were last year?

I might be wrong but I have a feeling the numbers have gone down.
