GAMSAT prep gone pear shaped !

Don't know what has happend to me over the past week or so, but I've managed to do absolutely no revision whatsoever. Probably something to do with heavy workload, ill baby and partner, dealing with family issues and so on. It's given me an indication of how hard the rest of my life will be if I get a place!

I've worked through the sample and practice questions and identified my weak areas - mainly need to brush up on organic chemistry and physics (mechanics primarily), so I think I'll prioritise those areas for a while and try the practice test, see if I've made any difference.

Has anyone else found that there seems to be plenty of time to complete the sections if you time yourself? Or am I getting it wrong somewhere...

Hope this gives some of you a bit of a boost - and the rest of you can offer T (with some G in it  ) and sympathy!

Six weeks to go - it might as well be 6 days!

Hi Jools,
I have been doing Uni revision for the last 2 weeks so gamsat has gone by the wayside too! Suddenly I know I have to get on with it again as I had my last Uni exam yesterday! Just when I thought I had got my life back! I shall have to get out the dreaded chemistry and lock myself in a room...

I cant study either, even tho ive got loads of free time.

Lets make a pact, we all promise to try to fit in at least 2 hours per day, lets make the next 6 weeks count!

2 hours a week would be more like it!!! But you are right...

I think it is important to do what you can, but there is a lot to say for being familiar with the test material style and being of agile mind - logic puzzles and cryptic thinking type crosswords might be good exercise for the old grey matter and a welcome intrusion to those physics texts!

Hi Jools!

Keep your chin up! I am sure everyone feels the same and there is still plenty of time to get upto speed. I found I have plenty of time left on the verbal reasoning, have barely a second on the essays to spare...I think they will be wrestling to get my pen off me when the bell rings in the exam, and I have about 15 mins spare on the science section. 15 mins to continue to stare at the Q's I couldn't work out usually.

For the physics mechanics Q's, I found a letts A-level question book specifically on mechanics Q's and its been a great help. I even managed to get it out of my library, so why don't you check if yours has it and have a look.

Stay positive you guys!!

remember, the people you meet on here , like me, are just a wee bit more obsessed than normal probably and maybe don't have science backgrounds or haven't done A-levels for a good few years so thats why we've needed extra prep time. All in proportion, I reckon everyone is pretty much in the same boat and stands as good a chance as anyone. Its actually a pretty fair exam, I reckon.

Besides, there's still time left.

As long as I get to watch the eastenders Xmas special on Christmas Day, I'm happy!

Cheers you lot. I'm not too worried, but just wish I could knuckle down to it.
