    Ozimed or Des O'Neill?

Now that Des O'Neill has cancelled his London course there are two correspondence type courses on the market.... Des' and also Ozimed. As i'm having a blind panic and contempleting buying either the Ozimed papers or Des' prep course I wondered if anybody knows anything about either or could sing their praises or their negative points.

As ever your help much appreciated! :P

When did Des O Neil cancel his courses as I sent a cheque off a couple of weeks ago and have not heard anything, do you mean he has cancelled his December preparation course ?

I have just received part one of Des's prep course and a refund due to the cancellation of the London bit. I have been looking at the humanities stuff today and I think it is excellent. Good explanations of why the answers are what they are. The types of questions are explained and you are able to see patterns in the type of questions you find difficult and work on them.

I have all Des's science notes which are a bit high level if you have never studied science before, but cover a massive range and definiately go above A-Level. I am in the middle of the essay course and my grades are rising rapidly.

I have not seen any Ozimed stuff so can't help on that score.

    Good luck

    Waddy,

did you purchase the whole lot then? I'm a tad skint and am already going to do a one weekend course so don't know what to buy from Des. I have done a bit of science before but could definetly do with some real pointers one what I need to study so maybe I should get both the notes and the tests. Actually how much did the whole thing cost if you don't mind me asking????

Have you found the tests helpful and are the answers good at helping you work out where you got questions wrong so you can learn from them???

I paid £540 I think for the full course but have received a refund for £156 as the final prep part is no longer a taught course. I have received over 400 pages of science notes, I have had 8 essays marked with feedback on what is required and copies of previous students essays with markers comments, and have 8 more to do. I have pages of practice questions with explanations of why the answers are the the answers. I have also received explanations of ACER's sample and practice questions.
I looked at gamsat.co.uk's courses but the total package was over £2500 and I would have had big travel and hotel costs on top.
I have been doing the course since early October and feel reasonably confident that my grades will be high enough for interview.

With all the materials infront of me I have no excuses, even my two children!

I would certainly recommend practice q's and answers at least to everyone but I think that costs £156.

It depends on your finances really.

    msminti,

Did you reply to Des confirming you wanted the partial refund, as you can have a full refund if you want. I e-mailed him on the 6th November and got my cheque on the 12th November with the humanities questions, and today I received the science questions.
