Right, thank you for all your replies to my other threads regarding GAMSAT.
Before I start dishing money (I swear my bank has someone closely monitoring my account!), can someone please help me choose.
Ok, so, I need to do gamsat for St, Notts and PMS (2.2). I could apply to UEA (only uni that I phoned who would allow a 2.2), but I will have to do science a-levels which will cost £1,000+.
Now I have heard a lot about GRADMED and have asked for a brochure. However, the full course is over £2,000. BUT it will give me the best chance of passing the exam (the inteview is a completly different ball game).
The total choices:
Ozimed papers -- £?
Gamsat Guru -- £?
Gradmed -- £2,000 + ( :-( )
.....Others?
Has anyone got advice on which one I should take. FYI:
1. I am an Arts graduate....
2. Only have C grade in GCSE science, so the only thing I remember from those days is E=mc2. Need to play catch up on my science.
3. I am willing to to STRICTLY schedule my learning, i.e. x hours per week and I will bloody follow it so help me god. (After being stuck in my current job for 6 months, I have to do what I really want to do)....So no short of effort or willingness.
With that in mind, what would you suggest. I mean, I would love to go to Gradmed cos everyone here says they almost "guarantee" results, but £2k+ is a lot of money for a "pot shot". I mean, fine I get the grade, I still have to pass the interview, which I know is about as easy as me flying to the moon and back on a paper aeroplane! But as long as I pass the 1st time, I can use the experience and find my weakness for the next time....
I want to make a decision by the end of the week so then I can concentrate on finding experience placements (I know I have left it a little late but I was trying to sort out the GAMSAT problem).
I was asked 'why not nursing' too - I had anticipated that question though and said something like I wanted to be more involved in diagnosis. I'm not sure I sounded v convincing though. I currently...
Interesting that you've said that, I was an HCA and am now a trainee biomedical scientist and they seemed really fixated on why I didnt want to be "just a nurse" or "just a BMS", and I felt like I...
Rejection also. I knew it was coming but until they send the letter theres that tiny bit of hope that everyone else was somehow worse than you! Let us know if you are successful at getting feedback,...
Sorry to hear that Profanius, chronomatic and ridders.
I know how disappointing it is to receive that email, especially after you think the interview went ok :(
Best of luck for the rest of your...
