Ronin Remote Medic Course - IHCD Para Award
I'm an IHCD trained Tech looking to progress to Paramedic level.
Sadly, as I am sure is the case with most NHS Trusts, the courses are few and far between.
I'm looking at a company called Ronin, who are offering an IHCD Paramedic course in South Africa (you can then apply for UK equivalency with the HPC once you've passed your course).
The only issue I'm having is that after the course they issue you with a workbook where you have to have your cannulation, intubation etc signed off.
I would do this in hospital or on the road with a qualified Paramedic but I'm pretty sure there'll be an issue with insurance...
Has anyone done this course or have any info regarding the skills part back in the UK?
Thanks and look forward to hearing from anyone!

Hey mate, I used to work as a tech before I started med school and have a friend who recently completed the course in Ronin. Send me a PM and I'll pass on his email or something if you want? I think he still had to do his tubes, maternity placements etc back with his parent trust and write around 3-4 essays in order to get the new module J section on the IHCD syallabus. Anyhows give me a shout if ya want.
Cheers....Soton BM5

Hey ...did you attend the course? Can you give me some feedback on it? I am about to enroll and pay my deposit to be placed.
