need advice on applying to edinburgh: PLEASE LOOK.

Thanks for looking in advance. I was just hoping for some advice on whether i would stand a good chance of getting in to edinburgh.
I am already applying to Oxford, kings and birmingham, and really like edinburgh, but since they dont have interviews i dont want to get straight up rejected.

    I got 10 A*'s at GCSE
    4 A's -
    chemistry -259
    Biology - 270
    gegraphy- 283
    r.s.-292

Andf have done aabout 4 weeks work experience. 2 weeks at my local hospital, and 2 weeks in India working in charity camps.
The reason i am asking is that many people have told me it is ultra competitive, and so i do nt wish to waste any of my choices. Got my UKCAT on monday as well. (also anyone know what would be an ideal score)

Anyone got any ideas on whether it is a good choce to apply.

    Heyy Akash!
Well firstly, you do have brilliant results!!! So well done! But I will say that academic standards only cover half of your score for Edinburgh. I wouldn't worry toooo much about Ukcat although it counts for 8% of the total score for your application, and they put you into 4 bands. I was in the second 25% last year with an average score, so if you get a score in the 700's for average or even above that then you may be in the top band for them .
For non-academic, basically, if you have done something that will stand out; have performed highly in some sort of sport or general hobby - then def apply. I think because they're gonna see THAT MANY applicants who have tried to show slightly well-roundedness you're gonna need something to kind of stand out.
My mate last year got in, and apart from having 12A*'s at GCSE, he also used to compete in Gymnastics at the national level - was a qualified coach, then was a qualified badminton coach, and also won a national Mandarin chinese speaking competition - being interviewed in chinese in Beijing by local press and radio!!!!! . . omg lol. So i can see why they launched to give him a place!
I've applied again there this year, although I am consistantly doubting whether I should have done as I doubt there's anything specifically special about my application as opposed to everyone elses!
But yeah, hope that helps! If you deadly want to get in there, then go for it!!!! Just make sure you can sell your non-academic achievements/interests well.

lol I told u - it's only 8% of your total score!! So it's not THAT much of a serious issue, plus you'll still be in the top half with that score!
