durham or/AND newcastle campus

hey everyone
what do people know about applying to durham or newcastle campus, is one harder than the other? if you put either, are you more likely to get in??when applying to both, do they both know and does it improve ur chances? which place is meant to be better, anyway?
any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated

You can apply to both, and they will be considered as 2 different applications.

If you put either Newcastle will randomly assign you to either, so dont think it will improve chances!!

The which is better question is rather subjective For example Newcastle is Newcastle.. got the night life, get to know the place from the start and will understand Newcastle uni's ways... drawbacks - larger groups for everything (PPD, MIC etc), larger year group (not as personal? again subjective) etc

Queens campus - smaller year group, great very helpful staff who stay there the whole year, part of Durham University for 2 years and get to experience 2 uni's as a result, college system adds some fun to the mix... however your in Stockton not Durham

So.. its personal opinion

I've been at Durham for just under 1 week and definatly recommend it.

The collegiate system makes it so that you are practically forced to meet and make new friends, also everyone seems to be so friendly and approachable. Other med schools seem to have the med school in its own little corner of the campus away from everyone else. But here the buildings are all mixed with people studying different things.

Ok it is in Stockton which isnt all that great but to be honest i don't really see why I would need to go into stockton that often with the retail park right next to the campus. And anyway middlesborough is only a few minutes away.

I have not started the course properly so cant really give much feedback on course structure, but so far I would definatly recommend applying to Durham.

Cant really tell you much about Newcastle as I havnt been there.

i wuld say that durham is the perfect setting for the maturer student, wif every need and want catered for very nearby, whereas newcastle might be considered more traditionally based.

even then though its a long shot from the traditional of oxford say, which uses the word 'traditional' to mean 'boring-you-shitless' compared to a kicking city like newcastle.
