JCR levy & 'living out' - worth it???

Hi,

I am coming to Durham next week!! Yayyyy!

I am a mature student and am living at home.... just wondered if the JCR levy of 50 quid is a worthy investment...or not?

Any thoughts???

Also is the 'College tie' thing a big deal for matriculation...?

Cheers

J

I'm living out too, darlington to be exact...

I've never heard of this levy or a college tie though lol, if it's only £50 then i'll pay it.

Are you in snow or stephenson?

Unless you want to be going to JCR partys I wouldnt bother joining. I live out and paid the money and wished I hadnt bother, was a total rip off and I saw no benefit out of joingin the JCR. You can always joing later if you want, so I'd hang fire.

Also only a few people get a college tie, again I personally wouldnt bother unless you want it as a keep sake.x
