Durham Freshers 2008 - Course Registration

Hi!
Have any other people starting the MBBS course at Durham rather than Newcastle had an email from Newcastle University about course registration?
If so, does it need to be completed - we are studying at Durham for the first 2 years not Newcastle so do we really need a Newcastle smartcard this year?
Any help much appreciated!

im glad im not the only one

it says on the letter i can do pre arrival registration on the durham website once i get logon details through email but instead i get details from newcastle uni

im gonna give them a call and see whats happening

You do it all in your first week at Durham, we never had to go to Newc. I think sometimes they send there to everyone not thinking about use at Durham. That is unless things have changed since last year.. x

ok i called up but forgot to ask about why we got registered for newcastle uni, but im not really worried about that because we are going to be part of newcastle uni in 2 years time so its probably just giving us access to newcastle facilties early on.

Its the fact i still hacnt recieved duo login details that is worrying, so i have called stephenson college and they said i have to send an email to admissions@durham.ac.uk. confirming that i want to attend durham come october and then they will send me duo login details

Then i can get started on all the online stuff they want us to do.

Apart from that we just have to fill in all the paperwork and get it in before the 12th sept

Have i got it right?

Thanks a lot! I have just sent them an email, so we'll have to wait and see whether they come back with the details or not!
Yes all the other forms have to be back by the 12th - so there's plenty of time to get that all done.
Have you had your accommodation info back yet?
Heard back from Newcastle this morning - apparently we should not have been sent the email from them about registration, and we should ignore it and not complete it!

like I said b4 was probs in error. This kind of thing was sent to everyone last year, as the two places are linked they forget to remove the Durham people from their correspondance. Glad you got the matter cleared up. x

Have you heard anything regarding the DUO login details, I still havnt recieved any email back with login details.

Im not sure but maybe when i called stephenson college they told me the procedure for non-medic students, and medics have to do something else??

Ill probably have to give Helen Taylor a ring tomorow to find out whats happening.

Hi again! No I still haven't heard anything about the DUO details!
This is getting a bit annoying!

You should get a leaflet at some point telling you your temporary log in details, is something like first two letter of your surname then part of your DOB etc etc..

I couldnt even figure out how to get onto duo with it.lol! I personally would ring Helen the admissions tutor, if she cant give you the info she will know where you get it from. I really wouldnt panic about not having it yet. x
