I applied to Newcastle for both 5yr and GEP and was interviewed for both at newcastle. I came out with some woefully stupid answers so i was rejected for both

no waiting list, just a straight rejection....
As far as i know there wasn't a waiting list and even if they did have a waiting list on the sly i would have been on the Newcastle one.
Then completely out of the blue they rang me from Durham, asked if i had got my 2:1, which i had, then offered me a place in clearing (automatic unconditional firm). I didn't have an interview for Durham, they usually interview independently from Newcastle so it was very strange indeed.
I didn't get any offers out of the four so i couldn't firm or insurance anything lol
There was really nothing that swung it for me, i was an unremarkable candidate in all respects imo (not to mention the epic fail interview).
I guess im just lucky, even if this is the first lucky thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m not complaining though!
