Exclamation Help! Do I need AS Chemistry??

I've received an offer from conditional offer from Durham stating I need AAA. I got the offer through Ucas but it didn't state in the offer letter (the one you can access online) whether I needed Chemistry AS. I'm studying Biology, R.S and Psychology A-Level and Chemistry to only AS (as I failed it the first time round and had to decline my D grade!) At the moment I'm just assuming I need my 3 A's and but I'm worried that I'll get that and they will turn around and say "where's your Chemistry AS to grade B?" It's not likely that I'm going to get any higher than a C in Chemistry - this is why I'm so worried!!!

Can some one tell me is Chemistry AS essential? and to what grade??

if its not stated in the offer letter i'd assume they dont care bout the AS u dropped

but u should call, cos i dont think other people would know bout ur individual offer.

Hey im a first year med student at Durham and i only studied chemistry at AS. There was no mention in my offer of what i had to get in it (as i studied it alongside my 3 A2's) except that i had to get AAA in my a levels. I would ring Helen Taylor the admissions lady on the conditions of your offer but if its the same as last year, if you dont hav chemistry to a level or AS u need it at Grade A GCSE. hope that helps, xx

Smile Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the advice people! I'm going to ring Helen and ask about it to be sure but from what you've all said it seems I don't have to worry about Chemistry- which is good since i've got the exam in 14 days and I'm very far behind with revision!

Entry requirements have changed slightly this year. If the offer is for the 3 A-levels I doubt you will need the chemistry. I was doing an AS Chemistry as I though it would help my application (I have a degree) but I got an unconditional offer and I never needed the Chemistry. x
