Smile House share??

Hi all,
I am going to be starting the 5year medicine degree at Durham university (Queens Campus, Stockton) in September 07. I will be 22 years when i start, i applied as a graduate. Anyway I have found the perfect house in Stockton (5mins from town centre, which in turn is less than10mins from uni). 3 double rooms, fully furnished, garden, nice area....if anyone interested in sharing, feel free to PM me for more info or post here! Thanx.
ps: what has been ppl's experience in finding somewhere to live in stockton and of the area in general?

I lived in Stockon in third year. Our house was at the Yarm end of town in a pretty quiet neighbourhood - 25 mins walk from the uni, 20 minutes walk from North Tees Hospital. It was a lovely place to live - we had smashing neighbours and had absolutely no trouble at all. I'd recommend it for the simple reason that you'll get something very very decent for next to no money - very handy when you're a poor undergrad!

Thanks for the info Mark! id like to be a bit closer to the town centre and the uni tho, with middlesbrough only a 9min bus ride away! the house is very very nice and cost very reasonable! seems like students live all over the place then, i thought theyd most ly be concentrated in stockton and thornaby. wow it must be so nice to be in ur final yr and not having to worry about all this! Is it very difficult finding F1 jobs? the news at the mo is so worrying, i hope the situation changes in 5yrs time.

Hi Irrovonne

Just out of interest, how cheap is living in a house than in halls?

Halls for this term are working out at about £100 a week for me, including everything

My house next year will work out at £47 a week, including everything (gas/elec up for £6 a week included in that, as well as broadband)

Over the whole year I will save £800 by living out (including all summer rent etc which you obviously dont pay in halls)

Hi guys, I'm a graduate student coming to Durham this year too-just got a letter saying I won't be considered for halls so am looking for a place and saw the post by irovonne on flatmateclick. it does look nice and it has the internet too-which I presume is in each room? Is the time frame from the uni in walking mins or via bus? I think it would be better to live with fellow medical students personally so am interested!! where do you guys originally come from? I'm from Leicester
