    Dundee Interview Location

In this google map: ninewells hospital - Google Maps
the marker labeled A, close to the university is incorrect and the big cluster over the pink part where it says "Ninewells Hospital and Medical School" is correct?
I know it seems obvious, but I'm going to be traveling by myself and I'd hate to turn up at the wrong place, so I just wanted to be absolutely sure.

    I missed this before, sorry.

Yes, you are going to Ninewells Hospital for the interview which is where the big pink cluster is. If you're coming from the train station you'd be best just jumping in a taxi, which will cost about £7 or so. The buses are very frequent but you would have to walk to a different location to get the correct bus and you might get lost if you don't know where you're going. Ninewells is a couple of miles to the west of the city centre.

The taxi should take you right to the front door of the hospital. Tell them to go to the main door, level 7 - make sure they take you there because a lot of staff enter through another entrance on level 6. You will see a glass walkway thing and if you walk in through that, you will see a shop, a set of doors saying "University of Dundee Medical School" and then a big reception desk to your left. I believe the email told us to just pitch up at the reception desk, tell them we are there for an interview and we would be taken into the university part of the hospital or directed there, so walk past the doors to the university part and go to the big desk in the main foyer of the hospital.

Excellent! Thank-you so much! Still a little nervous, but this helped. Still freaked out about taxis though.

If there are no taxis sitting at the train station (unlikely, but you never know), you could call one from your mobile on 01382 505050 or 01382 203020.

It will take about 15 mins or so to get to Ninewells by taxi. There are shops, cafes etc. in the hospital so if you're early you won't have to just stand around.

Are you just going for the day or have you booked a hotel?

I'm staying overnight the night before the interview, but I haven't booked a hotel yet, though I definitely should soon. Thanks again.

If you're looking for cheap 'n' cheerful, there is one of those travel lodge type things right across the road from the train station. I've stayed there before when my flat got flooded out and it was decent (clean etc. but basic). If you don't mind shelling out a bit more, The Landmark is very close to Ninewells and a bit posher. Otherwise there are some nice B&Bs on the Perth Road (west end, close-ish to the hospital).

I would avoid anything in the east end of the city because it will be more difficult for you to get to Ninewells. The west end is nicer too :P
