I did a degree in Neuroscience at Cardiff uni (graduated in 2007) and have been working in medical communications the last couple of years. It is something I have always wanted to do so I will hopefully get the chance!

Got acknowledgement from Leeds by post today. Everycourse acknowledged just no inetrviews as yet......come on, hurry up :-)

so far i have had acknowledgement letters from kings, penisula and liverpool, nothing as yet from birmingham for their 5 year course...has anyone done anymore work experience? i got the opportunity to observe hypermobile lip surgey today! it was pretty awesome stuff!!!

Someone on the studentroom has an offer for interview at Peninsula ! They aren't living in UK though so perhaps it's to allow for time to organise.

A reply from Kings, ''For our graduate entry dentistry course we received approximately 285 applications for 30 places. Applicants who score within the top 25% in the UKCAT are usually considered for interview, but unfortunately we are unable to publish what this cut off score may be.''

I don't think I'll be within the top 25% with a UKCAT average of 627. I should have applied elsewhere.

What's that meant to mean??? I didn't get that on my acknowledgement letter! I think that you did the right thing in applying. If you want to go somewhere then you should just go for it. If they want to use this test and it excludes people then that is up to them , their loss as I fail to see how it predicts a good practitioner!! :-) (I was looking at evidence of this recently - there is a very similar thing in canada and there were several studies that showed that the test predicted success in Uni but there was a gap when it came to predicting success after Uni !! Any other opinions would be interesting )
