No don't worry about it,i didn't find the question rude. At the end of the day we're all trying to get to the same place. I guess my personal statement just wasn't strong enough...

Is this your first time applying?

Well i'm definetly applying to Peninsula that's for sure! I'm actually debating on whether to just apply for Peninsula alone! But if i decide otherwise..Liverpool is a second option and two london uni's but i have yet decided which one's yet.
How come you're not applying for 2010 entry?

i was told that it might be worthwhile using one of my choices to apply for a 5 year course, because an extra year in the bigger picture is all that much. and if i dont get accepted onto the competitive 4 year this year id still be wasting a year anyhow.. does anyone reckon thats good advice?

Yeah, sounds like a good plan.As you say, an extra year will not make much of a difference in your life. At the end of the day whats more important is that you become qualified and can work thereafter...even if it takes that bit longer. It may even be that that extra year helps further strenghthen your confidence and competency when carrying out dental treatment...who knows..

I think i'll be doing something similar though

hey guys, ill be applying to peninsula for 2010 entry!!! where else is evry1 plannin on applying, and in regards to one of the posters above, a 5 yr course is sometimes a good idea, however, u gtta remember tht most LEA's dnt pay the fees for a second degree, so basically, u wil be liable to pay for 4 yrs at £3k+, whereas on the 4yr, u will pay for yr1 and most of te time the NHS cough up for the rest of it!! but if u dnt mind paying for another 4yrs of uni education its all good!! x
