Unhappy Urgent Advice Needed

I am doing my A2's this year in non-science subjects and i applied for pre-dental courses but i got rejected from all of them. I am predicted to get ABB by the end of the year. I have got very poor gcse results due to some family problems as i got 11 C's. I have got 3 options now left. One is that i do A levels in biology & chemistry and then apply to 5yr course. Second is i take gap year and do work experience and then do access to medicine course and then apply after that to 5yr course. Third is i go through clearing and try get a place into 4yr BSc chemistry degree and then apply for graduate entry programme. Plzz tell me which one is the most safest option to choose?

Thanks

doing the a levels and reapplying i would say is the safest

grad entry is tougher to succeed in than applying as an undergraduate

with regards to your grades and situation, i'd ring the unis you're interested in to hear their view on things before applying

yeh i think i will do a levels but i am not sure about my gcse grades as i wanted to apply to universities in london. There is alot of competition and i don't think i will even have a chance as people have A* at gcse's.

if you ring and ask, explaining your circumstances, that will be the best indicator of whether you stand a chance or not really

thats the advice i'd give

From what I understand about pre-dental courses is they are for someone with proven ability at A2 level or equivalent but without the necessary subjects.

Once you have some good A2 grades under your belt you will be able to show your potential; many of the pre-dental courses are very small in comparison with mainstream numbers.

After you have got your grades you could persue a Chemistry degree or Biomedical science as a progression route, alternatively research 'Access to medicine'?

Good luck

I went to a career adviser and they suggested that I should do my gcse's again. I want to know that as my gcse in science was double award from aqa n i gt CC. If i go to a college now and do science which are separate like biology, chemistry n physics do you think the university will count it as a retake? i know it mit b stupid of me askg this kind of question bt i was just confusd.
Thanks

yeh that would be fine to substitute the double award with
in fact it counts for more - 3 GCSEs as opposed to 2
