YSS is an evening of scientific inspiration that is not to be missed held at Imperial College London. It is an opportunity for medical students to display their academic prowess via a symposium that takes the format of a competition.

Six high calibre presentations based on clinical or non-clinical findings, lasting a maximum of 10 minutes including a question-answer session, will be judged by an eminent panel of scientists and clinicians, and in addition, the audience, a new feature introduced this year, thus guaranteeing that the presentations are entertaining as well as insightful.

This year the panel consists of Professor Sir Anthony Newman, the Deputy Principal of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial, Dr. Steve Gentleman, a Neuropathology Lecturer and Dr. Kevin Murphy, a Gastroenterology Lecturer.

The event is hosted by ICSMU Muslim Medics Society and shall take place on Thursday 26th November 2009 in the Sir Alexander Fleming Building, Lecture Theatre 1, Imperial College London, South Kensington at 17:30.

This event is completely free and we invite you and your friends to attend this evening and give you the chance to appreciate scientific research at the highest level. It is indeed a wonderful opportunity for you to not only learn something new and exciting about the medical world but to also see how research actually takes place in practice.
