Unhappy Faculty of c**ts

hey, wandered across this group earlier on facebook and found it quite worrying. Im a grad so i know that there is a general perception that medics are quite cliquey; but after finding this im a bit worried about being on the other side of it come sept.

i mean, this is actually like a hate group lol. has anyone ever had anything as bad as this sed to them?

the group is... Agghhhhhh.... Medics | Facebook

the worse discussion topic is probs the 'Out of the Mouths of Medics.........' one.

some of the wall posts and discussion topics are really nasty though. im not so worried about the bad attitudes of ppl. more worried about being shunned the moment i mention wat i study.

dw it won't happen.

i know some people find medics egotistical, but that's mainly medcis' fault - as a group they are from my experience at least, the most.

but to be honest, you're not going to be a social outcast because you study medicine so it's a silly worry.

I once overheard some people talking in the library about what twats medics were with their "Medic hoodies" and "other things"....

Being a nosy git I continued to listen in.

They were a pair of psychologists that then spent 30 minutes debating if humans had 22 or 23 pairs of chromosomes

I had to giggle.

Oh I'm joining that group too

Oh...and just to confirm, i'm both a twat and will be buying a hoodie

I shall then swan around everywhere in it and proceed to tell people that the school of medicine bought it because we get all the funding as we're a proper subject

(Told you I was a twat)

What wall?

Answer is certainly a resounding no i don't from me, i don't mind a lot of things... just confused at the same time.

Also, people who wear hoodies with their affiliation/school/club/society, etc, are twats.

Unless it's something i'm in. In which case they are lovely and sexy people.

I've got a Swansea genetics hoodie, in a violent blue colour

I've also got a mug with David Hume on it....

Lovely and sexy eh? Ah I hold no illusions that I'm not a twat

I meant link this page to their wall so they can see

You should see what is written about medics on some of the midwife websites. Makes the facebook group look mild in comparison.
