My Application For Medicine
Hi there every1, I need some help and advice if possible. Let me explain my situation:
I am 22 years olds, I live in London and have decided to apply for medicine as a mature student. I have completed my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with grades AAB.
Now I know medicine is a very competitive course and I was just woundering which universities should I consider applying for (as I do not want to waste my 4 options through UCAS). Would I have a better chance applying for a university inside or outside london? Which universities would you advice me to apply for? Do I have a good chance of getting in with my current circumstances? and is there any general advice you can give me. I would really appreciate your help! Thank you

^Surely only Imperial?
It's not just a matter of grades. As a mature student you may suit a PBL courses better than a traditional course. Get all the prospectuses and call eacg uni's admissions department.

Imperial was this year - for entry 2009 i think Kings, UCL, St. Georges and Queen Mary's are too
[don't quote me on that, but fairly sure]

Some Advice Please
Hey all,
i need your help!!!
I am 22 year old. I graduated from Durham University last month with a 2.1 in Health and Human Sciences. Last year i applied to Warwick, Kings, Queen Mary's and Newcastle for the graduate courses and didnt get into ANY of them! I was rejected very early with some. I think it may have been because i had not yet finished my degree!
Anyways i am reapplying this yr. But just for the 5yr courses. My GCSE'S were great but my non science A levels are quite bad. CCD
What should i do? Should i do an access to medicine course this year? If so, do i need to finish the course before applying to medschool. OR should i continue to work as a healthcare assistant as i have been?
PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!
IF THERE IS NO HOPE, TELL ME!

I'm not at full liberty to say anything conclusive, but go for med schools that have a policy of taking your most recent grades into account only ie Cardiff and BSMS.

Well, they did fail to get into medicine nearly 5 years ago when it was far far easier to get in.

nowadays it's very test based - good A levels aside, decent BMAT and UKCAT scores can make the whole process of getting in to med school a whole lot easier

I know quite a few dentists and doctors that had offers along the lines of CCC-DDD even as close as 20 years ago. Quite worrying really.
