- What problems do you face??

Volume of information to be dealt with. Funds can get quite tight.

- What do you hate about your course??

Organisation of the school office. Stuff thats supposed to be student selected but isn't really, but don't worry about that.

- What do you love about your course??

Patients are interesting. Pathology (ie the disease process) is interesting. Procedures.

You don't have to do full night shifts, but they are the best learning opportunity you will get. See patients, do stuff, have the previous 2+ years of work suddently make sense... I can't emphasise this enough.

- Is there anything you would change about yout course or your work load??

If we wanted it to be less work it would take much longer. In my 3rd year I've been able to direct a show and (@hopeful) play regular gigs with a band and still do well in my exams.

That's my 2 cents.

- What problems do you face??

That most ppl in the year are pretty competitive so you constantly feel like you have to work extra hard to process the huge volume of info without burning out.

- What do you hate about your course??

Having to write a whole bunch of reflection essays about how good you are and how well you progressed and how you identified and dealt with your weaknesses. complete waste of time.

- What do you love about your course??

Almost everything else, really... love dealing with pateint... love applying knowledge in a clinical setting... love the variety of things I come across... it's difficult to get bored

- Is there anything you would change about yout course or your work load??

The work load is not that bad. It's just about time management. You can always fit more into your schedule

- Is there anything, that you think effects your performance- course related or just job related??

not enuff clinical teaching

- Those in FY1 and FY2 what problems do you face in finding those NHS posts you want and what do you think about the Modernising Medical Careers training scheme??

It's not difficuilt to get into the deanary you want for FY unless ofcourse you apply to London. The application form is a load of rubbish. U get scored on how well you sell or write about yourself not howgood you ACTUALLY are objectively... rumours says that FY may not be garenteed in the future as there are many EU applicants as they get same priority as us...
