You believe the Labour government? Yeesh.
Yeah but here we are. Wrote to my MP stupid response from anne keene (or whatever her name is). Hospitals still wanting a small fortune for utter crap accomodation. Nothing really happening, some attempt at a camp out in London. We start in like 2 wks time, same hours as last year, same job, but 30% wage cut in banding and accomodatoin gone. Looks like my bma sub has been put to good use or not, first thing I'm cancelling when I start.

Ann Keen (aka Mrs Expenses) has managed to annoy me with her shitty propaganda filled letters many times. One of the letters I received a couple months ago explained there were no locum doctor shortages... while the DoH had previously admitted there were locum doctor shortages... wrote a pissed off letter back copied to my MP... he had the decency to reply and explain I was right while seemingly making out that is what she meant all along... bunch of lieing shits.

Looks like many of us have come into contact with Ann Keen, what a politican this one is. I wrote to my MP and he wrote to Ann Keen who basically sent me and my MP the same letter the government released with a bit on the bottom saying that there has been no sig drop in applications therefore she sees no need to increase pay - this is prob the most stupid reply I have ever heard lol!

Anyways I too have cancelled my BMA membership for F1

BMA - BMA rebuttal of arguments put forward by the Department of Health in England regarding the removal of free accommodation for first-year Foundation House Officers, June 2008

If you're interested.

Honestly though, how is this the BMA's fault? Surely this is the Labour government's fault? The BMA have been representing our interests at the highest possible levels and trying to gather as much media coverage and public support as possible. You want someone to blame, fine, and I'll admit the BMA cocked up MTAS in some of the worst ways possible but I don't see how they can be blamed for the actions of the government.

From the BMA website:
We are a voluntary association with over two-thirds of practising UK doctors in membership and an independent trade union dedicated to protecting individual members and the collective interests of doctors.

That's how.

No, that's not how. The LABOUR GOVERNMENT has made the change, despite protestations from the BMA.

And besides, Hospital housing victory for first-year doctors - WalesOnline
