I applied to the post graduate course after my degree but as I only got a 2:2 I was rejected from all unis on the basis of my grading rather than I had only just graduated.
I then spent a year topping up my work experience at the weekend and working full time in a hospital during the week. Got the head consultant to write my reference. (sometimes its who you know not what you know, none of my family or friends are doctors so it was a big boost for my confidence)

I then sat the GAMSAT and had offers form both Nottingham and St.Georges. I'll start St.Georges in September and am totally extatic.
Just goes to show that even if you are dissapointed with your degree classification if you persever you can still become a doctor!!!
If there is anyone sick of rejection out there don't give up, I came very close several times but if its your dream and you want it bad enough it will happen!!!

I have also got a 2ii but with extenuating circs. My work experience is pretty lengthy though,
3 Years working as an optometrist, including spending 1 day a week for a year working in a hospital (with patients, not befriending etc). In addition volunteering 1 day a week for a year (on my day off) at a mental health day centre plus first aid qualifications.
I applied to
Nottingham and SG's failed gamsat
Leeds rejected w/o interview
Newcastle GEM unconditional offer!!
due to start sept
