Intercalated year at Newcastle

Just wondered if anyone has done one or knows someone who has...
I have an offer from newcastle and bristol and am seriously considering doing an intercalated year at whichever.
Bristol seems to have alot of people doing intercalated years and good facilities and i hoped someone could shed some light on intercalated years at Newcastle.
Thank you

I didn't do one myself (wanted to get through the course as quickly as I could!) but Newcastle offer a wide range of intercalation options.

There's the ability to intercalate between year 2 and year 3 to earn a BSc (or equivalent) or between year 4 and year 5 to earn an MRes. There have been a few guys that took the opportunity to extend their MRes work a further 3 years and gain a PhD but that's perishingly rare. There's no compulsion to stay at Newcastle to do your intercalated subject - a couple of guys from our year went down to London and across to Manchester.

Sorry I can't be of more use than that - I'm sure that there are others out there that know a bit more ("Premsut" intercalated between year 2 and 3 if I recall correctly...)
