Competition ratios are always misleading. You need to know the number of well-qualified people applying. This is the kind of info you can only get from the horses mouth. If you want to do specialty X, speak to the consultants who were involved in recruitment for ST posts. They will tell you what you need to know and what you need to do.

May I ask what a whipple procedure is?They often mention it in scrubs...

a Whipple a.k.a pancreaticoduodenectomy is basically removing the gall bladder, head of the pancreas, anatomically relevant lymph nodes, some bile duct, half the stomach and some other stuff i think due to cancer on the pancreas!! though i cud be wrong!

oh haha i thought it was something to do with hernias is it particularly complicated? They always seem so excited about it in scrubs. Ha though i guess it is just a comedy

lol yeh its mentioned in greys anatomy as well! i think its a pretty major surgery cos theres a lot of removal goin on!

Peninsula! East Anglia, Kings (along with everyone else it seems) and glasgow. I'm looking for pbl and decided to base my college choices on that. How about you?I was talking to you before I can't remember did you say you're applying this year?If so where you applying to?And how did the dreaded ukcat go?
