What did you offer to get into Med school?

Hey all,
There's an awful lot of people wondering exactly what you have to offer to get into med school. There are threads as to UKCAT scores, etc. but I think what people really want to know is what the people in med school at the moment had when they got into med school.

So yeah what did everyone have when they were offered a place?

Thanks all!

I think most people will have met the qualification requirements for the medical schools, you will not get much variation in terms of grades etc. This is why actually getting the grades only counts for about 25% - much more important is selling yourself in your PS, having done something resembling work experience (even if that was just volunteering in a nursing home or with kids with learning disabiltilies, it all counts), having extra-curricular and making sure to say what you got out of all of this and also probably mention something about having a realistic expectation of what medicine will be like because you have spent time reading books on it/talking to doctors and med students/reading the BMJ or something.

You need to try to get the grades/subjects outlined in prospectuses and stuff, but it is only a small part of getting into med school.
