Submissions wanted - publication opportunity
Hi guys and girls,
The Student Committee at the Royal Society of Medicine are working with the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine to see if we publish some student writing. We're also looking at ways of promoting student writing, so again if anyone out there has experience of this we'd appreciate your input...
If you have any writing you'd like to see in print, let me know by posting a brief description of what the work is about etc. You can send in research projects, case reviews, creative writing, reviews of art, books, plays and events, and just about anything else! (Keep it clean tho!!!!)
I'll get in touch with anyone who replies we can to look at it.
I look forward to seeing replies here soon.

Bump!
Not had too much response yet - surely someone, nay, everyone must want their name in a publication as prestigious as this!!!
Come on people. send me any work you may have and I'll do my best to get it published - you don't even have to be an RSM member to do this, just have some any medical orientated writing you want to see in print!
Jim.

He's got his name and position at the RSM in his post. I think it's a safe to assume he is who he says he is!

Thanks admin.
No April fools on this thread, to those that have suggested as such: allow me to re-iterate my credentitals for anyone who's interested.

Young Fellows Liason to the Royal Society of Medicine
What all this means, is that although I'm not an employee or the Royal Society of Medcinine, or its Journal, I do have an unpaid position of responsability within its walls, which among other things is to promote academic medicine to everyone within and outside our profession. My personal interest in all this is that by getting students published, it increases student exposure to an academic medical journal, and gives all of us experience of going through the publishing process - something you'll need to be adept at at some stage of our careers and the sooner the better.
Shoudl you have any doubts over the authenticity of my posts here, I would invite you to contact me personally on jim.blackburn@doctors.org.uk or to request a reference in the Royal Society of Medicine section of this forum, where our Academic Department will be glad to oblige.
I look forward to receiving articles from any interested parties in the very near future.

Hi Jim,
I'm currently researching an article on Avain flu and its pandemic potential.
Is it something that could possibly be of interest?

Absolutely Shobit. Plus can you copy the text of my message and pass it around your medical school in whatever way you normally do - i've posted in the RSM forum to all the reps to do the same, and will re-iterate here.
Need as many articles as possible to go into the working group meetings with...
