  • Ace Anatomy Resources

Many students regard anatomy as the bane of their medical degrees, be it learning, it revising it, or worse still applying it in practice under the surgeon’s glare. With these useful resources though anatomy can be made much easier, and dare I say fun!! There really are some incredible resources here I wish I’d known about when learning anatomy – do have a go!

    Anatomy arcade - http://www.anatomyarcade.com/

Number 1 for making anatomy fun, perhaps a little basic for more advanced students.

    Digital Anatomist Project - http://www9.biostr.washington.edu/da.html

This website is simply a must if you want to visualise your anatomy in 3D, a fantastic amount of detail and content which used to be available via CD but is now uploaded free on the internet. The interface is a little simple and most of the anatomy isn’t labelled but still a really useful resource, especially for revision!

    The inner body - http://www.innerbody.com/

A true reference website with a huge amount of anatomical detail clearly arranged and labelled, perfect for the budding surgeon!

THE anatomy iphone App - http://www.anatomylab.com/iphone/

Plenty of anatomy iphone apps out there, this one uses real dissection images, which you can virtually dissect, rotate, and label to give you a real grounding in anatomy - perfect for preclinical students doing prosection or dissection. Also available on CD/DVD for Windows PCs.

    Berkeley Uni Lectures - http://webcast.berkeley.edu/course_d...sid=1906978375
If you missed your own anatomy lectures or they aren’t that great, you can watch and listen to the ones provided at Berkeley University here, seriously informative and quite useful for revision in a loveable old school fashion!

    Dissection Videos - http://www.anatomy.wisc.edu/courses/gross/index.html

A full range of high quality dissection videos – might even be worth watching these before going to the dissection room so you know what your looking for when you get there!!

    Anatomy Quizzes - http://library.med.utah.edu/WebPath/H...ANATOMY.html#1

Once you’ve learnt your anatomy using the resources above, test your knowledge out with these quizzes from the university of Utah, great variety and depth!
