Whats the point

As I sit here trying my best to get ENT revised in a day for my surgical finals in less than two days time Im thinking to myself - what is the point in sit down exams if you can just cram for them get everything into short term memory and forget it all after - Led me to think that maybe we should have exams at an unknown, undisclosed time - so that we work continuously at a high level. Suppose the answer should be that I should be working continuously and already have this knowledge

LOL! That would be horrific!
Do you not have some form of continual assessment as well?

well not really - we have about a million short and long cases to write but no really continuous assessment
